Our Word of the Week is:  Empathy.

Science Night is coming up this Tuesday from 5:30 - 7:30. Our Hyde PTA and 5th grade science teachers have worked very hard to provide a fun night of STEM, learning, art, and creativity! In addition to our science fair awards, we have over 20 booths and activities planned for our Hyde family. The Mad Hatter will be putting on two performances to dazzle us with an amazing display of science. Our friends from Code Ninjas, Baytown Nature Center, and the Clear Falls Biotech Club will be joining us as well! And many of our Hyde teachers will be set up to help our kiddos with some hands-on activities we know you will just love. We hope to see you at this very special event!

If you can volunteer, contact Sheri Carey at sheri.carey4@gmail.com

This week, students will have the opportunity to shop for loved ones at the Penguin Patch.  All students will preview the Penguin Patch on Monday.  PTA volunteers will help students shop Tuesday-Friday.

Our FIRST official Carnival Meeting will be Wednesday December 11th at 530pm in the Cafeteria.  Anyone interested in assisting with carnival is invited to attend.

Students in grades 3-5 will take Curriculum Based Assessments (CBA’s) for Reading and Math on Tuesday and Wednesday.  Make sure your child gets plenty of rest and eats a healthy breakfast.

Cold and flu season is upon us!  Please do not send your child to school until he or she has been fever free, without medication, for at least 24 hours.  Check your voicemail to make sure the mailbox in not full.  We want you to receive messages from the nurse, in the event of illness.
